“Glorious Song – the Colors of Music” features soprano Demareus Cooper and baritone Eugene Perry with the Renaissance City Winds performing a wide range of contemporary and traditional vocal music. The exquisite art songs of Harry T. Burleigh and Herbert Franklin Mells, two brilliant but largely forgotten African-American composers from the first half of the twentieth century, the delightful Pooh songs by California composer Brian Holmes, one of Scott Joplin’s memorable rags, and a poignant anti-war song by the late Pittsburgh lyricist Linda Marcus all add up to a program you won’t want to miss!
