Our annual holiday concert! First performance is in Oakland at the First Church of Christ Scientist, and features a program of quintet favorites, old and new. The Concerto for Wind Quintet, by Belgian composer-organist Joseph Jongen, is a wonderful work in a post-Impressionist style written during World War II. Recent works include the charming Kaleidoscope by Venezuelan-American composer Efraín Amaya and the Quintet of Pittsburgh composer/cellist Paul Critser. Holiday selections include R. James Whipple’s Four Jewish Dances and secular Christmas music arranged by Keith Powell.

NOTE: This program will be repeated on Saturday, November 26, where there will be a tour of the toy train collection in the museum at Holmes Hall.
