The Winds are honored to host pianist Maria Corley from eastern Pennsylvania, an incredibly talented pianist, composer, writer, and educator. Her two CD’s of music by women of African descent have made many new pieces accessible to music lovers. With the Winds she will be performing a trio by William Grant Still and the premiere of a work for piano and wind quintet commissioned from her by the Winds.
For the first time, the Winds will perform in the concert hall of the Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild on the North Side; note the earlier-than-usual start time for the Saturday evening concert, 7:30pm. The Sunday program is at 3pm.
