Luz_ManriquezPianist Luz Manríquez joins the Winds for this concert celebrating Women’s History Month, featuring a notable work from the past plus three from contemporary composers who have lived in Pittsburgh.  The Saturday concert is in the elegant ballroom of  the Twentieth Century Club, a private women’s club founded in 1894, with a Monday evening repeat performance at Carlow University.

One of Chile’s most distinguished musicians, Luz Manriquez has appeared as soloist, recitalist, recording artist, and in chamber ensembles throughout the United States, Latin America and Europe. Educated in Chile, Switzerland, and the United States, she currently lives in Pittsburgh where she is Associate Teaching Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, co-directing the program in Collaborative Piano. She can be heard on many CDs, and has worked with the Renaissance City Winds for over a decade.
Women of Notes will also be performed 7:30pm Monday, March 14
at St. Agnes Center, Carlow University, 3333 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh (Oakland)
